Now that I have concluded the course much has been said about just what exactly is style. I still agree with my post earlier in the term that style depends largely on what you are writing. Now I can include when writing for the Internet into the list of style. Ultimately style is sounding like yourself in the clearest most concise manner possible. Style is taking an idea and organizing so others can understand your true meaning. Such as taking a web page and organizing it so that everyone get to the information necessary even if they are doing more skimming then actual reading.
Style is not just the words we use but the images as well. This is where visual rhetoric comes into play. We live in a visual society, where the images must be taken just as seriously as the words themselves. And the need to include only the images which portray the meaning you are attempting to convey is just as important as omitting needless words from your writing.
Style is needed for every type of writing in its own form. It is just as important in cyberspace as it is in a reserch paper. Over all the message remains the same. Keep what you are trying to say clear and consice, whether it is words or images.
